Job summary

Flint Bishop in Birmingham, UK, is seeking a solicitor to join the Large Loss team and support senior solicitors and partners on complex defendant catastrophic injury (large loss) pre‑litigation and litigation claims arising from motor insurance clients.

The role is full-time and permanent, open to NQ solicitors, Chartered Legal Executives, or experienced Large Loss Solicitors with motor injuries experience; reporting to the Head of Insurance Litigation at Bennetts Hill.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years of experience in large loss work within insurance litigation.
• Excellent client care and communication skills.
• Solid IT skills, including the Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Support solicitors and the head of large loss with a varied caseload of complex motor claims.
• Contribute to developing effective strategies for defending motor claims.
• Keep personal legal knowledge up to date and share updates with the team.
• Demonstrate a track record of excellence in defending motor claims.
• Work well independently or as part of a team.

Role Details

This role is available to NQ solicitors, Chartered Legal Executives, or experienced Large Loss Solicitors and you must have experience of personal injury work within motor insurance claims. Reporting directly to the Head of Insurance Litigation. The role is full‑time, permanent and based at our offices on Bennetts Hill in Birmingham.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting the solicitors and head of large loss with a varied caseload of complex defendant catastrophic (large loss) matters.
• Demonstrate a creative and innovative approach to dealing with claims.
• Ensure personal legal knowledge is kept up to date and new advancements are communicated to the wider team.
• Demonstrate a proven track record of excellence in defending motor claims.
• Assist clients in devising key strategies.
• Be able to work effectively alone or as part of a team.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Have between 1-5 years’ experience in large loss work in the insurance litigation arena.
• Possess excellent client care and communication skills.
• Have a sound knowledge of IT systems and processes, such as the Microsoft suite.
• Be a hard‑working and highly‑motivated individual with the ability to work cohesively as part of a larger team.
