Large Animal Or Mixed Veterinary Surgeon- Powys

Responsibilities
  • Join a proudly independent, 11 vet mixed practice with a collaborative and supportive team offering genuine opportunities for career growth and development.
  • Enjoy a varied caseload of 50% large animal, 40% small animal, and 10% equine work, tailoring your role to your interests and strengths.
  • Work from a brand new, purpose built facility equipped with dedicated large animal consulting rooms, state-of-the-art diagnostic and surgical equipment, and a modern setup.
  • Contribute to a flexible structure that supports both large and small animal duties, with clearly defined days for each and a strong nursing team involvement.
Practice and caseload

An exciting opportunity to join a proudly independent, forward thinking practice in the heart of Powys. The well-established team includes members from recent graduates to those with over 25 years in practice, offering opportunities to expand clinical skills, pursue a certificate, or explore new professional interests with strong backend support.

The caseload is varied: approximately 50% large animal (mainly family-run beef and sheep enterprises with a focus on preventative herd health), 40% small animal, and 10% equine work. Building lasting relationships with loyal clients and local farmers is central to the service.

Rota
  • 4 day week
  • 1:2 Saturday mornings
  • 1:8 first on call rota and 1:8 second on call rota with bonus
