Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Large Animal Clinical Skills Technician in the School of Veterinary Medicine, supporting our clinical skills-based teaching programmes.

The School of Veterinary Medicine aims to create a wealth of new knowledge of the animal world, taking a multi-disciplinary approach to veterinary education and research and creating the veterinary leaders of the future. With over £40m of investment, international and multi-partner collaborations, coupled with a multi-disciplinary approach and state-of-the-art equipment, teaching and research facilities.

You will be part of a team of technical staff delivering a high standard of animal welfare and husbandry along with technical support for teaching activities, in our purpose-built facilities. You will be working predominantly with horses, cattle, & sheep so experience, good handling skills and knowledge is essential for the role.

The core hours of the role are Mon - Fri 08:00 - 16:30, but there is some flexibility required to come in earlier/later as needed.

You will have either a relevant degree with farm and equine experience or significant relevant experience in ideally an equine environment, large animal environment, or veterinary clinical environment. You will also have a solid understanding of relevant health and safety issues.
