All of DWEs profits are gift aided to Devon Wildlife Trust to further its conservation work. DWC are involved in delivery of a project called Connecting People and Landscapes in a Changing Climate which is a partnership project being led by the Bat Conservation Trust.
The Connecting People and Landscapes project brings together farmers, landowners and communities across the South-West and beyond to create a more resilient landscape in the face of changing climate.
Made possible with funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the project is looking at the impact that climate change is having on wildlife in farming landscapes, focusing on nine threatened nocturnal mammal species (seven bat species, dormice and hedgehogs). It aims to build understanding of how nature-friendly regenerative farming supports biodiversity and creates resilient landscapes, bringing communities and farmers together to connect and learn through events, activities, and wildlife monitoring.
The project has run for 18 months in its development phase and has now secured four years of delivery phase funding.
