Job summary

Wessex Internet is hiring Landscape Construction Operatives to deliver high-quality fibre installations from the boundary to customer premises. You’ll work in a team, performing open-air installations and ensuring safety, efficiency and quality across the project.

Ideal candidates bring a can-do attitude and reliability, with a willingness to learn and grow within a fast-moving broadband company serving rural communities in the South West.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Experience in fibre, utilities, construction, landscaping or groundworks is welcome.
• Desire to build a long-term career in the industry.

Responsibilities

• Installing fibre infrastructure from the garden boundary to the property termination point.
• Working within Openreach PIA infrastructure and Wessex Internet's underground network.
• Carrying out site surveys to assess and plan installation routes.
• Discussing installation routes with customers to minimise disruption and avoid existing services.
• Updating digital records and as-built maps using company systems.
• Completing daily equipment and machinery checks.
• Working closely with colleagues to ensure installations are safe and on time.

As we continue to expand across Dorset, Somerset, Wiltshire, Hampshire and the New Forest, we're looking for Landscape Construction Operatives to join our Construction team.

What You'll Be Doing:

As a Landscape Construction Operative, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality fibre installations from the property boundary through to the customer's premises. Working as part of a team, you'll help ensure every installation is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standard.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Installing fibre infrastructure from the garden boundary to the property termination point.

• Working within Openreach PIA infrastructure and Wessex Internet's own underground network.

• Carrying out site surveys to assess and plan installation routes.

• Discussing installation routes with customers to minimise disruption and avoid existing services.

• Updating digital records and as-built maps using company systems.

• Working closely with colleagues and other departments to ensure installations are completed safely and on time.

Desirable (but not essential - qualifications can be provided post-probation):

• PIA accreditations (SA001, SA002, S7, S8)

• NRSWA / IPAF certification
