Job summary

HS2 Ltd is seeking a GIS Technician in Birmingham to support land assembly and compulsory purchase processes within the contract area. You will work on maps, data, and analyses to enable land access for each work package according to the construction programme.

The role delivers data-driven GIS solutions, coordinates with Land & Property and BIM teams, and ensures HS2 standards and QA controls are applied. A fixed-term contract through Sept 2028 with a competitive benefits fund is offered.

Qualifications

• Experience with GIS data modelling and spatial analysis within large projects.
• Knowledge of data quality and data assurance processes across lifecycles.
• Ability to automate GIS data processing and integrate with wider data standards.
• Experience working with stakeholders and training/non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Promote Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) across workstreams.
• Capture and process acquisition records including titles and land data.
• Lead preparation of maps for land hand-back and disposals.
• Derive datasets through advanced GIS analysis.
• Coordinate between Land & Property and GIS teams to maintain standards.
• Assure spatial data delivery meets HS2 standards.
• Develop new data specifications and QA processes.
• Collaborate with suppliers to improve data accuracy.
• Prepare briefing packs and exhibits for Parliamentary processes.
