Job description

Base Location: Reading, Melksham, Andover, Poole or Yeovil.

Salary: £49,004 - £57,728 + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Flexible UK | We will, however, need your base 'home' location to be one of our SSEN offices or depots around Forbury, Melksham, Andover, Poole, Yeovil.

The role

Our Land Consents Managers play a vital role in ensuring the successful delivery of our project portfolio, helping drive progress toward a net zero carbon future across our electricity distribution network. In this role, you'll be responsible for securing, managing, and maintaining strong land and property rights for underground cables, overhead lines, and ground‑mounted equipment on both public and private land.

You will
  • Devise consent strategies to ensure our capital investment projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in a sustainable way.
  • Manage risks that could impact the future security of the network.
  • Negotiate the successful acquisition of wayleaves, easements, land purchases, lease agreements, and access permissions.
  • Manage compensation claims from end to end.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to develop strong, positive working relationships.
You have
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Experience securing wayleaves, easements, land purchases, lease agreements and access permissions.
  • Experience of working with key stakeholders, such as landowners, tenants, and their agents, local authorities, and national agencies.
  • A sound knowledge of and application of land rights, planning processes and environmental legislation.
  • A full, current driving licence.
