Assistant Fitter

Northampton | £12.21 per hour | Mon-Fri (7:00am-5:00pm)

Or do you already have experience with tools, fitting, or construction and want to step into a more stable, skilled trade?

We're recruiting Assistant Fitters for a well‑established manufacturing company that offers full training, real progression, and the chance to learn from highly skilled engineers.

Whether you're early in your career or already have trade experience, this role gives you the platform to grow, develop, and secure a long‑term position.

What you'll be doing:
  • Assisting experienced fitters with installations, assembly and workshop builds
  • Using hand tools and power tools confidently (training given where needed)
  • Helping with preparation, measuring, cutting and fitting tasks
  • Learning new technical skills and progressing into more advanced work
  • Working in a structured environment with clear daily tasks
  • Maintaining a tidy and safe working area while following H&S procedures
What we're looking for:
  • A willingness to learn and the drive to build a trade
  • Hands‑on background such as construction, labouring, assembly, workshop, engineering or similar
  • OR existing experience as a fitter/assembler looking for a new opportunity
  • Someone reliable, hardworking, and switched‑on
  • Confident using basic tools, or eager to be trained
  • A strong team player with good communication and a positive attitude
