Job summary

Tilia Homes is recruiting a Labourer for our Tanton Fields housing development on a 9-month fixed-term contract. You will help maintain safe, tidy sites and support material handling and waste management on site.

Responsibilities include daily site checks, waste segregation, signage inspection, and following instructions from the Site Manager to uphold company standards and health & safety on site.

Qualifications

• Health and Safety Awareness.
• CSCS or partner scheme card is preferred.
• Experience on large-volume domestic house-building sites is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain compound and welfare facilities.
• Keep all plots tidy for trades.
• Walk plots daily to remove surplus materials.
• Segregate and recycle waste per guidelines.
• Inspect site signage and keep signs clean and in good repair.
• Carry out works on site as instructed by Site Manager.
• Report health and safety breaches to the Site Manager.
• Ensure fixed-material protection is maintained per procedures.
• Notify Site Manager of removal or abuse of protective materials.
• Check show home gardens and public spaces weekly for rubbish.

Job description

We have an opportunity for a Labourer to join our team on our Tanton Fields housing development on a 9-month fixed term contract. Our labourers are key to maintaining safe and tidy building sites as well as supporting the care of materials and waste. Duties include:

• Ensure compound and welfare facilities are maintained
• Ensure all plots under construction are kept tidy by all trades
• Walk round plots under construction on a daily basis to ensure there are no surplus materials discarded
• Ensure all waste across the site is segregated and recycled following company guidelines
• Inspect all on-site signage including all large sale signs, plot signs, safety signs etc., and ensure that signs are always clean and in good repair
• Carry out all works on site as instructed by the Site Manager, and in line with company standards and procedures
• Take personal responsibility for Health and Safety on site and report any instances of breaches to the site manager
• Ensure that all protection of fixed material is carried out by the sub-contractor who fits it, in line with company procedures
• Ensure that protection of fixed material is maintained to the last possible moment and notify the Site Manager of anyone permanently removing or abusing the protective materials
• Check show home gardens and public open spaces on a weekly basis and remove any items of rubbish which may have blown onto these areas Experience of working on large volume domestic house building sites
