Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor milling machinery to process wheat and barley.
  • Conduct routine quality checks on raw materials and finished products.
  • Carry out administrative tasks relating to analytical work.
  • Produce and calculate results, collate data for reports.
  • Ensure Quality management according to standards.
  • Calibration and maintenance of lab equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the milling area.

Job description
Analytical Services

We offer commercial analytical lab chemistry testing for food and drink, including: nutritional and health, microscopy, biochemistry, allergens, chromatography, packaging, cereals and ingredients, and wines and spirits.

Position
  • Operate and monitor milling machinery to process wheat and barley into flour.
  • Conduct routine quality checks on raw materials and finished products.
  • Carry out administrative tasks relating to analytical work e.g., sample receipt and booking in of samples into LabWARE LIMS.
  • Produce accurate laboratory record, calculate results, collate data for inclusion in scientific reports and produce reports for bespoke and routine analysis.
  • Ensure all aspects of Quality are managed according to Campden BRI standards.
  • Calibration, maintenance and daily monitoring of lab equipment’s e.g., balances, pipettes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the milling area.
Requirements
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work on a number of tasks and manage priorities.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to operate and maintain machinery.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Confident using standard computer programmes.
  • Minimum of English & Maths GCSE at Grade C/4 or above.
