Job summary

Skills4Group in Colchester is seeking a motivated Laboratory Technician Apprentice to join the laboratory team. This role offers hands-on training toward a Level 3 Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship, with the ability to earn while you learn and gain practical skills.

As an Apprentice, you will support day-to-day laboratory tasks, learn testing procedures, sample preparation, and maintain safety standards.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in Maths, English, and a science subject (or equivalent) at grade 4-9 or equivalent.
• Ability to work unsupervised following a planned work schedule.
• Writing and numeracy skills.
• Familiarity with computers / keyboards / typing skills.
• General awareness of safety, and in particular safety issues of working in a laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with laboratory tests and experiments under supervision.
• Preparing samples, materials and equipment for testing.
• Accurately recording results and maintaining laboratory records.

Colchester, CO4 - We are looking for a motivated and practical Laboratory Technician Apprentice to join our laboratory team. This is a great opportunity to earn while you learn, developing hands‑on laboratory skills while working towards a Level 3 Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship.

Qualifications Required

GCSEs in Maths, English, and a science subject (or equivalent) at grade 4-9 or equivalent.

About the role

As a Laboratory Technician Apprentice, you will support the day‑to‑day work of the laboratory, assisting with testing, preparing samples and maintaining a clean and safe working environment. You will be trained and supported throughout the apprenticeship.
