Job description

This role is ideally suited to someone with a strong interest in microbiology, a methodical approach to work, and the ability to manage tasks effectively in a deadline-driven setting. ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

You will register, prepare and test routine samples in line with customer expectations and, when required, assist in the development of new in-house procedures according to business demands. To be compliant with continuous improvement and to follow the laboratory's quality management system. To promote a strong quality and safety culture which reflects the values of Intertek and the expectations of customers.

Key activities:

Conducting microbiological analysis of food samples using a variety of methods and techniques, including PCR, OBOP, and traditional culture methods

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all tests and results

Participating in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results

Adhering to all laboratory safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organized work environment

Collaborating with other team members to ensure efficient and effective laboratory operations

Keeping up-to-date with the latest advances in microbiology and food testing methodologies

Ensure all routine and urgent analysis is performed and reported according to customer expectations.

Continuously be aware of opportunities for improvement in the laboratory

  • Be accountable for stock levels

Monitor and evaluate systems for improvement through waste reduction and efficiency
