Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Laboratory Technician to join ResChem Analytical Limited based in Derby, England. We are a responsive client focused analytical laboratory who specialise in pesticide residue analysis conducting regulatory studies to GLP on behalf of agrochemical companies for the registration of plant protection products.

ResChem Analytical Limited is a division of Smithers ERS Limited which provides a wide range of environmental safety testing services for the pharmaceutical, agricultural, industrial, and specialty chemical and personal care industries. Our teams include experienced scientists and technicians offering a broad range of skills and areas of expertise.

Working as part of an established and growing team we are looking for colleagues who are self‑motivated, enthusiastic, ambitious, have a keen eye for detail and an aptitude for problem solving.

All work will be conducted in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and specifically those regulations (GLP) specified in the study plans, protocols or work agreements governing the work in which they are involved.

Training will be given in all aspects of the role including :

  • sample preparation;
  • assisting the team with sample analysis;
  • general laboratory and housekeeping duties.

Responsibilities of the role may vary depending on your qualifications and relevant experience.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Ideally educated to BSc in Chemistry or a related scientific subject or to A-level or equivalent with experience working in a laboratory being preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • A passion for problem-solving and innovation.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent IT skills; well‑organised, enthusiastic, and demonstrates a hands‑on approach to work with the ability to use initiative and apply knowledge.
