Job summary

Adaptavate Ltd in Bristol is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support the development of next-generation carbon negative building materials through hands-on lab work, sample preparation, formulation trials and product testing. You will work closely with scientists and engineers and contribute to data collection and result presentation.

You will maintain lab organisation, ensure data accuracy, and use basic data analysis tools.

To succeed in our mission, we are looking for a Laboratory Technician to support the development of next-generation building materials through hands‑on laboratory work, including sample preparation, formulation trials, and product testing. Working closely with scientists, chemists and engineers, the role will involve operating laboratory equipment, recording and presenting results, and contributing to the continuous improvement and scaleup of new products.

Your role

This role will include, but is not limited to;

Assisting in the development of the next generation of carbon negative building materials

Carrying out formulation development

Conducting product testing and data collection

Presenting lab results to the wider team

Maintaining high standards of laboratory organisation and cleanliness.

You will

Have practical laboratory or workshop experience (preferably within building/ construction industry)

Be educated in a STEM-related subject

Want to be part of a curious, goal oriented and purpose driven team

Be meticulous with detail and data accuracy

Have a positive attitude and enthusiasm for learning

Competently use basic data analysis and reporting tools.
