Job summary

Müller UK & Ireland is seeking a proactive Laboratory Team Leader in Bellshill to lead our laboratory team and uphold quality, food safety, and continuous improvement. You will manage daily operations, coach seven technicians and analysts, and ensure robust QMS compliance.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will drive root-cause analysis, support budget planning, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver safe, saleable products.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship qualification or equivalent experience in a laboratory, food manufacturing, or technical environment.
• Knowledge of microbiology and laboratory practices.
• Previous experience leading, coaching, or developing a team.
• Strong communication and influencing skills.
• Proven ability to solve complex problems and facilitate improvements.
• Experience working within quality management systems and food safety environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and develop a team of laboratory colleagues.
• Coach and mentor, supporting individual and group development.
• Drive performance management processes including objective setting and reviews.
• Ensure efficient daily operation of the laboratory and quality testing.
• Maintain compliance with quality, food safety, and regulatory standards.
• Provide specialist expertise in chemical and microbiological analysis.
