Looking for a hands‑on lab‑based role where accuracy, speed and teamwork are key?

We’re working with a leading organisation in the FMCG sector who are looking for a reliable, practical Laboratory Product Development Assistant to support their product sampling and R&D activities.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience handling chemical products, base oils or working in a manufacturing or lab environment. Full training is provided – what matters most is strong attention to detail, confidence working with measurements and mixing, and a positive attitude.

Please note: this position is not suited to recent science graduates seeking long‑term development in laboratory R&D. This is a fixed‑term, task‑focused role available immediately.

Key Duties Include:
  • Compounding samples using base oils and chemicals to specific formulations
  • Following mixing instructions with precision, using weights, measures and lab tools
  • Replenishing workstation stock and ensuring all compounds are correctly labelled
  • Safely disposing of expired or unused chemicals
  • Operating automated lab equipment after training
  • Keeping the work area clean, organised and compliant with Health & Safety procedures
  • Supporting the team to hit daily and weekly production targets
What We’re Looking For:
  • Excellent numeracy and confidence working with weights and measures
  • Good dexterity and fine motor skills for handling delicate lab tasks
  • Previous experience in a lab or production setting involving chemicals or mixing preferred
  • Highly accurate with strong attention to detail
  • Able to follow instructions and work within tight timeframes
  • Team‑focused, dependable, and motivated
Additional Info:
  • Full lab PPE (coat and safety glasses) provided
  • 6–12 month contract, starting as soon as possible
  • On‑site role based in Hayes
