Job summary

Avetix TIC is seeking an experienced Laboratory Manager to lead a 30–40 strong team within a commercial laboratory setting in the United Kingdom. The role focuses on delivering high-quality services, driving performance, and aligning operations with strategic objectives.

You will oversee daily lab operations, budgets, resource planning and KPIs, foster continuous improvement, ensure quality and safety standards, and collaborate with senior management on commercial goals.

Qualifications

• Strong background in chemistry and laboratory operations.
• Experience within commercial laboratory environment.
• Candidates from environmental, water, food or other analytical testing laboratories are welcome.
• Proven experience managing and developing laboratory teams.
• Budget management and operational planning experience.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of approximately 30–40 laboratory professionals.
• Oversee day-to-day laboratory operations, ensuring efficiency, quality and performance.
• Take responsibility for budgets, resource planning and operational KPIs.
• Drive continuous improvement, productivity and operational excellence.
• Ensure high standards of quality, health and safety and regulatory compliance.
• Work closely with senior management to support operational and commercial objectives.
