This role as a Laboratory Chemist - Drilling and completion Fluids will be under general supervision, you will conduct routine chemical and physical analyses by running tests required for product and application development or QC of processes or procedures. The position is based in Aberdeen within the laboratories.

As a Laboratory Chemist - Drilling and completion Fluids, you will be responsible for:
  • Under minimal supervision, conduct routine chemical or physical analyses by running tests and procedures in support of UK/European/Caspian Operations for Drilling Fluids.
  • Assists senior personnel in providing results to internal/external customers.
  • Communicates results to supervisor in a detailed manner.
  • Handles special projects, as assigned.
  • Writes reports.
  • Assesses results for applicability, validity and conformance to specifications.
  • Calibrates and maintains equipment and relevant paperwork.
  • Sample disposal.
  • Willingness to provide 24 hour cover when required.
  • Prepare equipment for offshore use.

  • Science degree or applicable engineering.
  • Good analytical, communication and problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of general chemistry/sciences.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft software.
  • Laboratory experience.
  • Ability to communicate well individually and in team environment.
  • Experience with drilling fluids testing as per API specifications and testing in a laboratory or operations role.
