Position Details

Laboratory Administrator – Refresco, Bridgwater

Shift: 4 on 4 off, days only 6am‑6pm

Purpose of the Role

To provide full administration support for the Laboratory Team and Laboratory Manager. Provide additional administrative support to other Technical Management members and the Factory Quality Managers.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure that laboratory files are kept up to date and accurate so that they are accessible to all laboratory staff.
  • All samples collected and sent according to schedule and customers' requests.
  • Minimise the number of lost or damaged parcels (circa 10 parcels sent per week).
  • Lab consumables stock maintained efficiently every week: circa 20 different items, approximately £1,000 per week stock purchase, orders placed in time for punctual delivery.
  • Ensuring consumable supply and demand is well balanced with no downtime in internal storages / offices / other premises. Ensuring stock is kept at optimal levels to prevent negativity impacting laboratory practices or expenditure.
  • Reduced costs for sent parcels in comparison to last month / quarter / year.
  • Reduced costs for lab consumables purchased in comparison to last month / quarter / year.
  • Accurate and timely report preparation (utilising 7 spreadsheets of data).
  • Accurate records keeping.
  • Completed training and tests.
  • Keeping working environment compliant with health and safety requirements.

  • Strong IT Skills; Microsoft office packages.
