Job summary

Slate Hall Veterinary Services in Cambridge is offering an Apprentice Laboratory Technician role within a Level 3 Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship. This full-time, approximately 16-month program lets you learn on the job and gain a recognised qualification while you earn.

No prior laboratory experience is required; you will train with an experienced team, handle samples, learn microbiology basics, and work toward your End Point Assessment.

Qualifications

• No prior laboratory experience required.
• A Grade 4/C or above in Maths and English is desirable but not essential.
• Interest in science and curiosity are important traits.

Responsibilities

• Receiving and preparing samples for testing.
• Learning microbiology basics and lab procedures.
• Working with a team to follow documented procedures.
• Maintaining clean and organized work areas.
• Entering and checking laboratory data and results.
• Getting ready for End Point Assessment.
