Lab Technician

We’re looking for a skilled Laboratory Technician to join a dedicated team in an ISO 17025-accredited laboratory environment. You’ll play a vital part in ensuring our fasteners and materials meet the highest quality and compliance standards.

Working hands‑on with test samples, you’ll perform mechanical and metallurgical testing, generate accurate reports, and contribute directly to product certification and process improvement.

£15‑£17 per hour DOE

Dudley • Permanent

Key Responsibilities
  • Follow laboratory procedures in line with ISO 17025 and quality management systems.
  • Review and prioritise testing requirements according to customer deadlines.
  • Prepare and process samples for testing – including cutting, polishing, and grinding.
  • Perform a variety of tests such as tensile, Charpy impact, hardness, decarburization, microstructure, grain size, and inclusion evaluation.
  • Conduct testing to internal and international (ASTM/ISO) standards.
  • Accurately compile and report test results.
  • Work independently to manage workload and meet deadlines.
  • Maintain high housekeeping and safety standards within the lab.
  • Comply with all health, safety, and environmental procedures.
  • Participate in training and development to enhance technical skills.
  • Carry out additional duties as required within the scope of the role.
