Overview

As our company grows and develops, we are ever expanding our teams. We have a great opportunity for a dedicated Technician to join our Environmental Science Division and wear the SOCOTEC badge with pride. We are looking for a reliable, motivated and committed Technician to join our Environmental Chemistry team. As a member of our team, it is key that you are able to work efficiently and independently, as well as working well as part of a wider team. While you may be performing the same array of tests day to day, the projects you will support will constantly change. You will be required to (but are not limited to):

Responsibilities

• Weigh, split, prepare and extract samples in line with Standard Operating Procedures.
• Pack bottles into boxes and dispatch to customers meeting daily and monthly KPI's.
• Transport stock and other members of the team in a company supplied van between 2 sites based in Burton on Trent.
• Maintain good laboratory practice at all times, following methods, standard operating procedures, local rules and regulations, maintaining equipment and safe working procedures.
• Be aware of and conform to the Laboratory Quality system, specifically UKAS (ISO17025) and MCERTS requirements.
• Project a professional, courteous image and support the business culture and codes of practice at all times.

• Good communication at all levels with good organisational skills.
• A motivation to learn team based systems and take ownership of objectives.
• Experience of working in a high pressure, production driven environment.
• Client focus and a drive for quality.
