Lab Technician

Location: WN8, West Lancashire

Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum + benefits

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

About the Role

We're seeking a Lab Technician to join a global leader in manufacturing. This role sits within the Technology Resource Group, part of the R&D function, and focuses on developing innovative products and processes.

You’ll work on a variety of projects, from short-term developments to long-term research initiatives, supporting the creation of advanced products.

What We're Looking For
Essential
  • BTEC or HNC in a science or engineering discipline
  • Minimum GCSE grade 4 (or equivalent) in Maths, English, and Science
  • Strong interest in science and technology
  • Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload
  • Experience using Microsoft applications
Desirable
  • Experience with high-vacuum systems and processes (training provided)
  • Background in operating and maintaining complex equipment
Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain laboratory coating and ancillary equipment
  • Deposit thin films on glass and prepare substrates
  • Conduct durability tests and measure coated glass properties (optical, electrical, film thickness)
  • Support development and problem-solving activities in both lab and production environments
