Job summary

Based in Basildon, Essex, A1 Personnel Employment Agency Ltd is recruiting a Trainee Quality Control Technician for a Basildon-based specialist manufacturer. No university degree or prior lab experience required; we are seeking someone with a genuine interest in science and a willingness to learn.

You will work in a small, hands-on laboratory team, perform routine QC testing, prepare batch sheets, record results accurately and help maintain a clean, safe lab environment.

Qualifications

• Interest in science, chemistry or laboratory-based work.
• Practical, methodical, hands-on approach.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Organised, reliable and eager to learn new skills.
• Follow instructions and work well in a small team.
• No prior laboratory experience required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine quality control testing on materials.
• Prepare and complete batch sheets and related documentation.
• Record test results accurately and maintain QC records.
• Follow established testing procedures and quality standards.
• Support the technical team with day-to-day laboratory activities.
• Help ensure materials meet required quality specifications.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised laboratory environment.
