Job summary

Harrow Green Laboratory Services is seeking a Driver Porter for a full-time, on-site role in Sawston. You will transport laboratory equipment, load and unload vehicles, and keep accurate delivery records as part of our laboratory relocation and logistics projects.

You will work with project teams and clients on-site, follow schedules, ensure safety and compliance, and uphold high standards of cleanliness and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and ability to relay instructions clearly.
• Professional customer service focus with client relations.
• Gatekeeper duties including access control and security protocols.
• Willingness to undertake training and follow health and safety guidance.
• Valid UK driving license with a good driving record.
• Ability to perform manual handling safely; lifting and moving equipment.
• Accurate completion of delivery records and documentation.
• Experience in logistics or laboratory support is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport laboratory equipment, instruments and consumables between sites.
• Load and unload vehicles; ensure items are securely packed and routed per schedule.
• Work on-site with project teams and clients during moves and deliveries.
• Maintain accurate records, checklists and documentation for deliveries.
• Uphold high standards of cleanliness, security, and professionalism.
• Assist with handling and basic preparation of equipment in laboratories.
