Job summary

Qualifications

• BSc Hons in appropriate biological degree (or equivalent qualification).
• Experience with laboratory computer systems and IT skills (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Internet and email).
• Basic scientific mathematics is required.
• Ability to work unsupervised and liaise with all grades of staff.
• Evidence of CPD participation.
• Understanding of UKAS ISO 15189 and GxP issues within scientific.
• Knowledge of related Health & Safety legislation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain the laboratories and equipment of the Vaccine Evaluation Unit (VEU).
• Implement and manage the VEU laboratory and equipment management system to meet regulatory and accreditation requirements.
• Assist in operational management of the VEU to maintain an efficient service and provide quality advice.
• Encourage high professional standards through personal and staff development.
• Work as agreed with senior VEU leads within the context of UKHSA, MMMP, LMCD and MFT.
