Job summary

Oscar Technology is recruiting a Tier 2 SOC Analyst to join a client in the United Kingdom. The role centers on incident investigation, threat hunting and acting as the escalation point for Tier 1 analysts, with a view to strengthening security operations.

You will lead shifts, mentor colleagues, drive improvements to detection capabilities and incident response playbooks, and take ownership of escalated incidents to safeguard critical assets.

SOC Analyst - L2 - £40,000 - £45,000

I'm working with a client looking to appoint a Tier 2 SOC Analyst to support security operations, lead investigations and act as an escalation point for Tier 1 analysts.

This is an opportunity for an experienced SOC Analyst, or a strong L1 ready to step up, to take on greater responsibility for incident investigation, threat hunting and improving security processes.

Key responsibilities:

• Act as an escalation point for Tier 1 SOC Analysts.
• Conduct threat hunting to identify potential security threats.
• Lead the team during shifts, supporting analysts with investigations and decision-making.

• Previous SOC experience, ideally at L2 level, or strong L1 experience demonstrating readiness to progress.

• The confidence to support colleagues and take ownership of escalated incidents.

• Shift pattern: Three days on, three days off.
