Job summary

Hampshire Trust Bank, in the UK, is seeking a KYC Screening Analyst to protect the bank from financial crime by conducting customer due diligence, screening, and monitoring across customer relationships. You will work in the First Line Risk function to ensure regulatory compliance and deliver excellent customer outcomes.

The role requires prior KYC/AML experience, strong attention to detail, and proficient use of Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a KYC, KYB, AML or Financial Crime role.
  • Good knowledge of UK Anti-Money Laundering regulations and guidance.
  • Understanding of sanctions, PEP screening, transaction monitoring and customer due diligence processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality, accurate work.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to apply a risk-based approach to decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and periodic customer reviews.
  • Perform screening against sanctions, PEP, SIP and adverse media databases.
  • Review and investigate financial crime alerts, including CIFAS, payment and customer screening alerts.
  • Undertake transaction monitoring activities and escalate risks where appropriate.
  • Assess and document financial crime risks, ensuring a clear audit trail of decisions.
  • Support customer outreach and periodic review completion within agreed SLAs.
  • Respond to internal and external KYC-related queries.
  • Assist with source of funds and source of wealth investigations when required.
  • Contribute to process improvements and financial crime projects.

As a KYC Screening Analyst, you will play a key role in protecting the bank from financial crime risks by undertaking customer due diligence, conducting screening activities, investigating alerts, and supporting the ongoing monitoring of customer relationships.
