Job summary

Penningtons Manches LLP in Basingstoke seeks a KYC assistant on a fixed term contract. You will help review new clients and matters, obtain and assess KYC material, and support risk management in line with AML regulations.

Qualifications

• Proven accuracy with good attention to detail.
• IT literate and comfortable with electronic systems.

Responsibilities

• Process and review all new / amended clients and matters opened by the firm.
• Obtain and review KYC materials to verify client identity and identify owners and controllers.
• Screen client and matter parties for PEP and sanctions and other risk factors.
• Deactivate matters where KYC is inadequate and inform fee earners as appropriate.
• Undertake research to assist the Best Practice team in risk factor assessment.
• Contact clients to obtain information and documents as necessary.
• Liaise with fee earners and support staff as necessary.
• Assist with keeping KYC and risk records using firm systems.
• Assist with Best Practice Enquiry 'Triage' process as requested.
• Perform other duties as reasonably required and undertake training when required.
