Job description
Medical Secretary – Dermatology Department

The post of Medical Secretary will support the team of 10 Consultants and allied medical and nursing staff in the Dermatology Department at ARI, providing secretarial and administrative assistance.

Responsibilities
  • Provide professional personal assistant (PA) support, including schedule management and correspondence.
  • Ensure the patient pathway is followed and completed efficiently.
  • Perform accurate and fast audio typing of clinical documentation.
  • Assist with administrative tasks across the department, including filing and data entry.
  • Collaborate with other Medical Secretaries, Audio Typists, and administrative staff as required.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Previous secretarial or administrative experience in a medical setting.
  • Excellent audio‑typing skills with a demonstrated track record of speed and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in touch typing (required).
  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills with the ability to liaise with clinicians and staff.
  • Familiarity with NHS working practices and patient confidentiality.
Working Hours and Location

8:00 am – 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday. Location: ARI, Aberdeen.
