Job summary

Boots UK is seeking a KTP Associate to bridge academic research and commercial innovation. You will work with Aston University researchers and Boots Opticians leaders to translate state-of-the-art AI into clinical retail solutions, delivering real impact and healthcare outcomes.

You will benefit from expert coaching, mentoring, and a development budget to build further skills relevant to your career, with a role based in Nottingham and regular visits to Aston/Birmingham sites.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree (MSc) in computer science, AI, or similar.
• Competence in machine learning, medical image or signal analysis, data engineering, and healthcare data governance.
• Adept at developing/validating AI algorithms, and adhering to regulatory and privacy standards.
• Desirable: PhD in Computer Science, AI or similar.
• Experience with explainable AI, human-computer interface design (healthcare), or integrating automated systems into clinical workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead KTP project bridging academia and Boots Opticians Professional Services.
• Collaborate with senior university researchers and Boots leaders to deliver impact.
• Apply latest research to achieve commercial impact and positive healthcare outcomes.
• Mentor and support translational development with multi-disciplinary stakeholders.
