Job description

Working closely with senior leaders and specialist staff, you'll play a key role in helping every learner move forward – academically, emotionally, and socially.

At Bramfield House School, an independent special educational needs school for boys aged 7–16 with social, emotional, mental health, communication difficulties and associated challenging behaviours, located in rural Suffolk, we are seeking an exceptional KS4 English Teacher to join our passionate and close‑knit team in the heart of Suffolk. This opportunity is in Halesworth, within commuting distance of Lowestoft, Diss and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high‑quality, creative and differentiated English lessons at KS4
  • Teach small groups or one‑to‑one in a calm, structured and supportive setting
  • Track progress and adapt teaching to maximise engagement and outcomes
  • Design and contribute to individual learning and behaviour plans
  • Lead English across key stages, with scope for additional leadership responsibilities
  • Play an active role in whole‑school improvement and development
  • Create a positive, respectful classroom culture rooted in the school values

We’re looking for a motivated, energetic and compassionate English Teacher who dares to think differently. At Bramfield House, you’ll teach small classes, build strong and meaningful relationships, and support pupils in ways that extend far beyond exam results.

You’ll bring English to life – sparking curiosity, encouraging self‑expression and helping pupils find their voice, sometimes for the very first time. Whether it’s mastering a paragraph, analysing a poem or gaining the confidence to speak up, your influence will be powerful and lasting.

Qualifications
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • A passion for English and belief that every pupil can succeed
  • A creative and reflective practitioner with a nurturing, pupil‑centred approach
  • A confident team player who thrives in a collaborative environment
  • Someone ready to lead, innovate, and make a genuine difference
Work‑life balance

At Outcomes First Group, we believe in better work/life balance and are putting wellbeing first. We are proud to be part of a 4‑Day Working Week (4DWW) trial, where you can work one day less each week (or equivalent hours) while still receiving your full‑time pay. Many of our schools have already introduced the 4DWW – and others are preparing to roll it out once they are fully staffed.

About the School

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils and young people. All applicants will be subject to social media checks and successful applicants to a fully enhanced DBS.

Benefits

Your health and wellbeing are important to us, so you’ll get an exceptional reward package including:

  • Life Assurance
  • Pension scheme with options to increase your contributions

    • Critical illness cover
    • Family Growth Support – inclusive benefits package covering enhanced maternity and paternity leave, along with paid fertility treatment support
