The school provides education for pupils aged 7–16 with a range of complex needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health and Autism Spectrum Disorder. You will be teaching a primary-model KS3 class of Year 7 and 8 pupils, focusing on core subject learning and helping students develop the academic, social, and emotional skills needed for successful transition into upper Key Stage 3. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a tangible impact in a setting that values creativity, compassion, and high-quality teaching.

Why Join the School?

About the Role:

You will foster a safe and stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity, resilience, and positive relationships.

You will be expected to:

  • Deliver well-structured, creative, and differentiated lessons across a primary-model KS3 curriculum.
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation, social communication, and engagement in learning.
  • Promote independence and self-confidence through positive behaviour management strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals to ensure a consistent, holistic approach to each pupil’s development.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through planning, enrichment, and shared best practice.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Has experience of or a strong interest in working with SEN and SEMH learners.
  • Demonstrates creativity, flexibility, and a nurturing approach to teaching and learning.
  • Can deliver differentiated learning experiences to meet diverse needs and abilities.
  • Is committed to reflective practice, teamwork, and ongoing professional development.
  • Possesses excellent organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
