Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a Mixed Year 5/6 Class Teacher for a small primary school in Sandy, Bedfordshire. The role is full-time and permanent, starting January 2027, with salary on the MPS/UPS scale dependent on experience.

The successful candidate will plan a differentiated curriculum for Years 5 and 6, deliver core reading and maths objectives, and support SATs preparation while fostering pupils' transition to secondary education.

Qualifications

• Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching Years 5 and 6 (Upper KS2).
• Ability to differentiate planning and manage classroom routines.
• Collaborative with support staff and families.

Responsibilities

• Mixed-Age Planning: Deliver a curriculum that meets the requirements of Years 5 and 6.
• Core Curriculum: Develop reading, extended writing, mathematical reasoning and problem-solving.
• Assessment Preparation: Support Year 6 pupils with SATs preparation while maintaining suitable provision for Year 5.
• Differentiation: Plan tasks that address different attainment levels and learning needs.
• Transition Support: Develop pupils' independence and readiness for secondary school.
