Chaigeley School are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Key Stage 2 Class Teacher to join our dedicated Lower School team. The successful candidate must have a secure understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum and be capable of delivering high-quality teaching focused on academic attainment and emotional growth for pupils with complex needs.
This role requires the delivery of a creative and highly effective curriculum rooted in nurturing principles. You will teach a wide range of subjects including English, Maths, Science. The position emphasises emotional growth within a stimulating environment, requiring high expectations for both achievement and behaviour. You will actively promote the school's ISHARE values: Independence, Self‑Regulation, Honesty, Acceptance, Relationships, and Emotional Intelligence. You are responsible for effective targeted support: utilising summative and formative assessment to differentiate work for pupils who often present with additional needs like ASD, ADHD, and communication difficulties. This includes organising visits and trips to enhance learning experiences. You will be supported by Pupil Support staff, including a key worker dedicated specifically to KS2 pupils.
The KS2 Teacher plays a pivotal role in delivering our enriched curriculum, which aims to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to thrive in the next stages of their lives. The focus of the Lower School curriculum emphasises key skills such as speaking and listening, reading, writing, and mathematics across all subject areas. The successful candidate must be resilient, flexible, and hard‑working, committed to raising standards and improving the lives of disadvantaged pupils.
