The role involves classroom management, engaging with students, and dedication to safeguarding young people. The successful candidate must have Qualified Teacher Status and experience or understanding of special educational needs. This position offers a competitive pay rate of £140 - £185 P/D.
Prospero Teaching is currently working with a SEMH School in Chorley that is looking for a KS2 teacher. This school caters for pupils between 6 and 16 who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school offers a variety of enriching educational opportunities for pupils including academic, functional and vocational skills. These students may present with mild to moderate ASD, ADHD and some will come from difficult and complex home lives. These students can be difficult to reach, and often display challenging behaviour.
You will be teaching small classes of students with additional needs. Most are disengaged from education, and part of your role will be to re-engage them. This position is ideal for a new teacher looking for experience within SEN, or an experienced teacher who is looking to reduce their workload and enjoy less planning! You must be a qualified teacher for this position, and this school is willing to support you through your ECT if needed.
