Job summary

The Grange School in Cheshire West and Chester invites applications for a KS2 Science Teacher on a fixed-term contract from September to August 2027. The role leads teaching and learning in Science from Pre-School through to Year 6, developing academic programmes and coordinating science across the school.

The successful candidate will create hands-on, enquiry-based lessons, embed technology including AI where appropriate, assess pupil progress, and report to parents.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher with UK teaching status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience delivering KS2 science.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to integrate technology into lessons.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver weekly and daily science lessons using school's schemes.
• Create hands-on, inquiry-based learning environments.
• Provide extension work for more able pupils and support for those needing help.
• Assess pupil progress and report to parents.
• Oversee maintenance and use of the science laboratory.
• Organise visits and enrichment activities.
• Collaborate with staff to support pupil welfare and PSHE integration.
