Job summary

Ribbons and Reeves Limited in Chelmsford is seeking a KS2 Teacher with a strong Literacy specialism to join on a permanent, full-time basis within a small Year 7 nurture class.

You will deliver personalised literacy-focused lessons, lead planning and assessment, and support reading, writing and comprehension while fostering positive pastoral relationships. Collaboration with colleagues is essential and the timetable includes 20% PPA.

Qualifications

• Strong Literacy expertise and ability to develop pupils' reading, writing and comprehension.
• Nurturing, patient approach with pupils in a small setting.
• Excellent classroom management and clear communication with students and staff.
• Commitment to pupil progress and high expectations for learning.
• Ability to deliver personalised learning and pastoral support.
• Eligible to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities

• Teach a small nurture class within Year 7.
• Take full responsibility for planning, assessment and pupil progress.
• Deliver engaging, personalised literacy-focused lessons.
• Support pupils to develop reading, writing, communication and comprehension skills.
• Provide strong pastoral support and build positive relationships with pupils.
• Help pupils transition successfully into secondary school.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the wider school community.
• Maintain a normal teaching timetable with 20% PPA.
