Job summary

GSL Education - Chelmsford are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant at a Brentwood primary school to provide 1:1 support for a KS1 pupil with additional needs.

You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to help the child access learning, follow routines, and build confidence in a supportive, inclusive environment. This is a full-time, long-term role starting ASAP, with ongoing support from GSL Education.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children in a primary school or childcare setting.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service (or willingness to apply).

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 support for a KS1 pupil with additional learning needs.
• Supporting the child to access classroom learning and activities.
• Encouraging engagement, confidence, and independence.
• Assisting with classroom routines, transitions, and structured learning tasks.
• Helping to maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support the child’s development.
• Promoting positive behaviour and social interaction.
