Job summary

MBDA UK is seeking a Knowledge Strategy professional to join the Capability, Knowledge & Skills division within the Technical Excellence Directorate. You will support the delivery of our Knowledge Strategy across international networks, engaging stakeholders to drive improved knowledge sharing and collaboration.

This hybrid role requires a technical or project management background, autonomous delivery of multiple initiatives, and capability to provide face-to-face and virtual training.

Qualifications

• Experience in technical or project management backgrounds.
• Able to work autonomously in an agile technical environment and deliver on multiple projects.
• Experience of providing face-to-face and virtual training.
• Experience in a multinational environment and MBDA tools for information architecture.

Responsibilities

• Establish and manage relationships across Knowledge Management and Technical Expert networks.
• Interface with department, division and directorate levels as needed.
• Coordinate and energise knowledge organisations across the business.
• Collect metrics to report on knowledge objectives and improvement opportunities.
• Develop improvement projects to optimise corporate knowledge and repository management.
• Provide guidance and training for knowledge management and best practices.

Job description

This exciting role will see you working in the international team of Capability, Knowledge & Skills division within the Technical Excellence Directorate of MBDA, you will be responsible for supporting delivery of the Knowledge Strategy.

Salary: Circa £65,000 depending on experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working: The success of this role is dependent on building effective networks and relationships. As such, we require a minimum of three days a week on site with occasional UK and European travel.

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

The role will provide the opportunity to work across a wide network with key stakeholders across international functions primarily in Greater Engineering and Programmes, supporting transversal engagement and collaboration, developing the knowledge sharing culture to optimise our corporate knowledge. With strong links to Technical Excellence Assurance, Technical Experts and supporting the Knowledge Managers within Engineering functions, this role will have specific delivery and engagement within the UK.

Key responsibilities include:

• Establishing, building and managing effective working relationships across the Knowledge Management and Technical Expert networks to ensure that all elements of the strategy are understood, communicated and being delivered against.
• This will include interfacing with and influencing at department, division and directorate levels as necessary.
• Co-ordinating, supporting, and energising the Knowledge organisations across the business.
• This includes obtaining metrics from each business area to support reporting of performance against the main Knowledge Management core objectives and identifying and promoting improvement opportunities.
• Identifying and developing improvement projects for knowledge activities to optimise corporate knowledge within the Knowledge Management Framework to ensure critical company information is captured, organised, searchable and distributed efficiently across internal teams.
• Providing guidance, resources and training for knowledge management, supporting best practice and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
• Co-ordinating and orchestrating the Technical Expert Network, including the creation of reports, organisation and facilitation of events and meetings and development of resources Supporting knowledge improvement initiatives and performance analytics to support improved access to knowledge and repository management to enable efficient methodology and consistent application of processes.

What we're looking for from you:

• Considerable experience within a technical or project management background
• Be a highly motivated individual able to work autonomously in an agile technical environment and deliver on multiple simultaneous projects.
• Experience of providing face to face and virtual training.
• Good awareness and practice of MBDA multicultural components and experience working within a multinational environment.
• Good knowledge of the business (products and development lifecycle for our systems).
• Ability to master the MBDA tools to establish an information architecture and repository management methodology.
• Good knowledge about the global Engineering skills and competencies in MBDA.
• Good knowledge of digitalisation improvement opportunities to leverage technologies for improved efficiency and outcomes.
• Be a strong communicator and influencer with good interpersonal skills able to collaborate with the wider business, with the ability and confidence to work across all levels in an organisation and to build relationships internationally and multi-disciplinary.
• Demonstrate strong leadership and change management experience to support accelerated increased time to competence
