• Support marketing and business development initiatives for the group, leveraging legal expertise and thought leadership.
• Engage with Clients & Markets to raise the group’s profile and strengthen client relationships.
• Identify legal and procedural developments relevant to Commercial Disputes and International Arbitration.
• Lead or support thought leadership: articles, talks, newsletters and podcasts.
• Review legal reform consultations and consider implications for clients and the group.
• Provide technical legal support and act as a sounding board for fee earners.

Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a Knowledge Lawyer with expertise in commerciallitigation and arbitration to join our highly successful Commercial Disputes andInternation Arbitration group within a leading international law firm.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting key marketing and business development initiatives for the group, particularly where these draw on legal expertise, market developments and thought leadership
• Connecting with the firm's Clients & Markets team to raise the group’s profile internally and externally, strengthening the brand and client relationships
• Identifying key legal and procedural developments relevant to Commercial Disputes and International Arbitration in collaboration with the Knowledge team
• Leading or supporting thought leadership initiatives, including the drafting and publication of articles, talks, newsletters and podcasts
• Reviewing legal reform consultations and engaging with professional networks when considering their implications for the group and its clients
• Providing technical legal support and acting as a sounding board for fee earners on complex legal and procedural issues
• Delivering training for Commercial Disputes lawyers, to include working with the Talent & Development and Knowledge Management teams to identify training needs and develop appropriate programmes.
• Helping the group with AI, innovation and technology to enhance efficiency, knowledge-sharing and client service
• Mentoring and supervising junior colleagues
• Promoting a culture of excellence and effective working practices

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• England and Wales qualified Lawyer with ~5+ years’ PQE in complex commercial disputes
• Strong understanding of commercial litigation, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms
• Strong technical knowledge of English law and procedure, including costs and funding rules
• Excellent drafting, analytical, communication, data management and IT skills
• Experience in a PSL/Knowledge Lawyer role, or comparable role, would be ideal
• Experience developing and delivering legal training programmes
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build relationships and drive engagement across practices and business services teams
