Job summary

CVUK is seeking an experienced Knitwear & Jersey Designer to create commercial, fashion-forward womenswear jersey collections for global retail partners and recognised fashion brands.

The role covers seasonal ranges across T-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, polos, dresses, skirts, joggers and more, including trend research, colour and print direction, fabric and trim development, CADs and technical specifications.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' commercial womenswear jersey or knitwear design experience.
• Strong knowledge of jersey fabrics, garment construction, washes, printing and manufacturing.
• Excellent Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD and technical drawing skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Design seasonal Knitwear and Jersey ranges across tops and dresses for global partners.
• Collaborate with product developers, technologists, factories and sourcing teams.
• Manage development critical path from concept through sampling to sign-off.

Knitwear & Jersey Designer

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Knitwear & Jersey Designer to design commercial, fashion-forward womenswear jersey collections for global retail partners and recognised fashion brands.

The role will involve creating seasonal ranges Knitwear and Jersey across T-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, polos, dresses, skirts, joggers, leggings and elevated jersey separates, alongside trend research, colour and print direction, fabric and trim development, CADs and technical specifications.

You'll work closely with product developers, garment technologists, overseas factories, mills and sourcing teams, managing designs through the development critical path from initial concept through to fit, sampling and final sign-off.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years' commercial womenswear jersey or knitwear design experience, with strong knowledge of jersey fabrics, garment construction, washes, printing and manufacturing. Excellent Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD and technical drawing skills are essential.

You'll be creative, trend-aware and commercially minded, with a strong understanding of the high street and premium contemporary womenswear market and the ability to translate trends into successful retail product.

Experience working with offshore suppliers is important, while experience designing licensed fashion product would be advantageous.
