A leading healthcare organization in Scotland is seeking an Advanced Psychological Practitioner to provide specialist psychological interventions to adults with learning disabilities. The role involves collaboration across various community learning disability teams and opportunities for supervision and development. Ideal candidates include Trainee Clinical Associates in Applied Psychology. Applications must be submitted through Jobtrain.
We are seeking a dynamic individual to provide specialist psychological interventions to adults with a learning disability who present with a range of mental health problems and / or behaviours that challenge, for the post of permanent 1.0 WTE Advanced Psychological Practitioner. The main base will be within the Moray Community Learning Disability Team however the postholder will require to work across CLDTs within Grampian (including Elmwood, Aberdeen) supporting and developing a tiered psychological therapy service for adults with learning disabilities. We would welcome applicants from Trainee Clinical Associates in Applied Psychology due to graduate in January 2026.
There are currently 7 other qualified staff working across Grampian within the community learning disability teams supported by 3 Assistant Psychologists. There are close links with the D Clin Psych/ Edinburgh University and the service routinely provides core and specialist placements for trainees completing this course. The service has a regular programme of CPD and opportunities for group and individual supervision.
