Job summary

Slug & Lettuce Southampton, part of the Stonegate Group, seeks a Kitchen Team Leader to guide the kitchen brigade, coach staff, and uphold top hygiene and food-safety standards. You will work with the Kitchen Manager to deliver high-quality dishes and drive team performance in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates bring leadership experience in busy kitchens, a proactive mindset, and a passion for training others within a vibrant hospitality setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to support, coach, and mentor your team.
• High standard of food knowledge and skill.
• Up-to-date COSHH, Food Safety, and H&S knowledge.
• Willingness to develop personally while propelling the brigade forward at Slug & Lettuce.

Responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation and collaborate with the Kitchen Manager.
• Produce high-quality dishes consistently to specification for our guests.
• Oversee and supervise the kitchen team in the absence of the Kitchen Manager.
• Assist with stock management, ordering and supplies.
• Ensure the kitchen is clean and hygienic at all times.
• Offer suggestions and creative ideas to improve kitchen performance.
• Lead the team to achieve company targets.
