Job summary

Slug & Lettuce Solihull is seeking a Kitchen Team Leader or experienced Kitchen Team Member ready to step up. In this role you will coach and develop the kitchen brigade, uphold top food safety standards, and lead by example to drive performance in a fast-paced pub environment.

You will work closely with the Kitchen Manager, ensure consistent dish quality, manage stock, and maintain a clean, hygienic kitchen. A proactive, inclusive mindset will help you thrive and support continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Must have strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
• High standard of food knowledge and skill.
• Up-to-date COSHH, Food Safety, H&S, and legal knowledge.
• Willingness to develop personally and advance the brigade.
• Able to lead the team to achieve company targets.

Responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation and collaborate with the Kitchen Manager.
• Produce high-quality dishes consistently to specification for our guests.
• Oversee and supervise the kitchen team in the absence of the Kitchen Manager.
• Assist with stock management, ordering and management of supplies.
• Ensure the kitchen is in an excellent, clean and hygienic condition at all times.
• Offer suggestions and creative ideas to improve the kitchen's performance.
