Job summary

Slug & Lettuce in Manchester is seeking a Kitchen Team Leader or experienced Kitchen Team Member looking to advance. You will support, coach and mentor your team while maintaining high standards of food knowledge, safety, and hygiene in a fast-paced kitchen.

You’ll assist with preparation, stock management and supervising the team when the Kitchen Manager is away, and you’ll contribute ideas to drive performance and achieve targets across our busy venue in the heart of the city.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or coaching a kitchen team.
• Up-to-date COSHH, Food Safety, and H&S knowledge.
• Willingness to develop personally and lead the brigade.

Responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation and collaborate with the Kitchen Manager.
• Produce high-quality dishes to specification for our guests.
• Oversee and supervise the kitchen team in the absence of the Kitchen Manager.
• Assist with stock management, ordering and supplies.
• Ensure the kitchen is kept clean and hygienic at all times.
• Offer creative ideas to improve the kitchen's performance.
• Lead the team to achieve company targets.

• Offer suggestions and creative ideas that can improve the kitchen's performance.
• lead the team to achieve company targets.
