JD Wetherspoon Plc is seeking motivated team members to work in our pubs, preparing and cooking food while keeping the kitchen clean and safe. Flexible shifts include mornings, evenings, weekends and late finishes; no prior experience needed.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; training provided.
• Good attitude, reliability and ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.

Responsabilités

• Preparing, cooking and presenting food to the correct spec.
• Operating kitchen work stations, including grills, fryers, microwaves and more.
• Working as a team to meet time and quality targets.
• Following food hygiene, allergen, health and safety standards.
• Cleaning as you go and during full kitchen down-times.
• Rotating stock and safely storing food.
• Completing required induction and ongoing training; contribute to improvement.

About the role

At a glance, your role is to work as part of a team to prepare and cook food and to help to keep the kitchen running smoothly, all while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety and customer service.

Our pubs open early and close late, so we offer great flexibility with shift patterns, including mornings, evenings, weekends and late finishes.

Duties include:

• preparing, cooking and presenting food to the correct spec
• operating kitchen work stations, including grills, fryers, microwaves and more
• working as a team to keep to time and quality targets
• following food hygiene and allergen, as well as health and safety, standards
• cleaning as you go, including full kitchen clean-downs
• rotating stock and storing food safely
• completing required induction, role‑specific and ongoing refresher training and contributing to continuous improvement

Essential requirements

All of the training which we provide will teach you everything you need to know to succeed, but there are a few essential requirements you’ll need to start:

• Have a proof of right to work
• Have a bank account in your own name
• Be able to converse in English and to understand the language to complete training and other duties associated with your job role.
• Have a fixed place of residence within reasonable travelling distance of your place of work.
• Basic computer literacy

Progression and development

Most Wetherspoon team leaders and managers started in the kitchen or behind the bar.
