Application Deadline: Ongoing

Start Date: Immediate

Contract Type: Full time

ABOUT THIS VACANCY...

You will be working directly with customers to help them choose and purchase the right kitchen for their needs and budget. The role is customer-facing and suits someone who enjoys helping people make confident decisions.

You will work as part of a close-knit sales team and will work towards clear individual sales targets, supported by a straightforward, uncapped commission structure.

HOW YOU’LL WORK

This role suits someone who is self-motivated and comfortable taking responsibility for their own performance.

You’ll have a high level of day-to-day control over your work, including how you manage your time, follow up enquiries and progress sales opportunities. We trust our sales team to organise their workload effectively, take ownership of their results and deliver an excellent customer experience.

This is not a tightly scripted sales role. You’ll be given the freedom to use your judgement, build relationships with customers and manage your own approach, while working within clear objectives and expectations.

You’ll be expected to:

  • Manage and maintain your own sales pipeline
  • Follow up enquiries consistently and professionally
  • Build strong relationships with customers throughout their buying journey
  • Take responsibility for achieving your targets
  • Keep customer records and quotations up to date
  • Ask for support when needed and contribute positively to the wider team

We’re looking for someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in their work and thrives in an environment where initiative, accountability and customer service are valued.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Helping customers purchase kitchens through our website, showroom and sales systems
  • Greeting showroom visitors and providing a welcoming, professional experience
  • Discussing customer requirements, plans and ideas to help them choose the most suitable kitchen for their needs and budget
  • Assisting customers with door styles, colours, cabinet options and product selections
  • Explaining the Better Kitchens ordering, delivery and after-sales process
  • Producing quotations, invoices, credit notes and other sales documentation
  • Taking customer payments and processing orders accurately
  • Responding to enquiries by phone, email, live chat and video appointments
  • Following up leads and maintaining an active sales pipeline
  • Working towards individual sales targets and contributing to wider team objectives
  • Keeping customer records and sales activity up to date within company systems
HOURS AND CONTRACT

Full time:

Working hours:

  • One weekday off each week (excluding Thursdays)

Additional hours may be required at busy times to meet customer service needs.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Previous sales experience in retail, home improvement, furniture, kitchens, bathrooms or similar customer-facing environments is helpful but not essential.
  • Comfortable speaking with customers face-to-face, by telephone, email, online chat and video calls.
  • Able to build rapport quickly, understand customer requirements and confidently guide customers through the sales process.
  • Experience in an office-based, showroom-based or telephone-based role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with good attention to detail.
  • Well organised, able to manage multiple customer enquiries and follow-ups at the same time.
  • Strong IT skills and confidence using cloud-based business systems, including Google Workspace, CRM software and video conferencing tools.
  • A positive, customer-focused attitude with a genuine desire to help customers find the right solution for their needs and budget.
  • An interest in kitchens, interiors or home improvement is beneficial, but full product training will be provided.
WHAT WILL YOU GET FROM THE ROLE?
  • Free tea and coffee
  • A supportive working environment
  • The chance to grow with an established and expanding business
PAY AND COMMISSION
  • Uncapped commission based on monthly sales performance
ABOUT BETTER KITCHENS

Better Kitchens is a family-run business, founded in 2006. We supply kitchens to customers across the UK through our website and our Weston-super-Mare showroom.

We work differently to large national retailers. We focus on good customer service, clear processes, and realistic expectations, without the high-pressure culture often found in bigger sales environments.

Customer service is central to how we work, and we aim to make buying a kitchen clear, fair, and straightforward.
