Job summary

Soho House is seeking a Kitchen Porter to support hygiene, safety and cleanliness in the kitchen and back-of-house areas. You will wash and sanitise kitchenware, manage waste, and ensure storage spaces are organised to maintain smooth service.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning, housekeeping, or janitorial experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

• Flexibility to work all shifts, weekends and holidays as required.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Wash, rinse, and sanitise all kitchen items including pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and glassware in line with daily operational needs.
• Operate commercial dishwashing and cleaning equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workspaces and storage areas.
• Dispose of kitchen waste appropriately, ensuring bins are emptied and areas are kept clean and tidy throughout the shift.
• Follow Food Safety and Health & Safety policies and practices in line with UK regulations (including HACCP).
• Follow detailed cleaning schedules and SOPs.
• Support the kitchen team by replenishing stock and reporting low supplies.
• Handle kitchen equipment and items carefully to minimise breakages and maintain inventory.
• Replenish supplies such as toiletries, towels, and cleaning materials where required.
• Safely handle and store cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Your main responsibility is supporting hygiene and safety standards, managing waste disposal, and maintaining overall cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen and back-of-house areas.
