Job summary

Horns Inn in Ferndown, part of the Stonegate Group, is hiring a Kitchen Porter to support our kitchen team. No experience is required as full training is provided, and you will learn essential kitchen hygiene and workflow in a friendly pub environment.

This role focuses on keeping surfaces clean, assisting with basic food prep, and helping the chefs with day-to-day tasks. If you’re reliable, organized, and enjoy teamwork, this could be your entry into hospitality.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; full training provided.
• Demonstrates good attention to detail and care for cleanliness.
• Reliable, organised and able to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• General daily cleaning of surfaces and floors in the kitchen
• Ensuring cleaning schedules are up to date and signed off
• Maintaining cleanliness of food storage areas
• Washing up plates, cutlery and kitchen utensils
• Removing kitchen waste from containers and disposing of it properly
• Cleaning and maintaining cooking equipment such as cookers and grills
• Supporting the Chef in basic food preparation (peeling and cutting fruit/vegetables)

At Horns Inn, we are looking for a Kitchen Porter to assist our kitchen team. No experience is needed – we’ll provide all the training to help you build the skills you need.

What you will be doing as a Kitchen Porter

• General daily cleaning of surfaces and floors in the kitchen
• Ensuring all cleaning schedules are kept up to date and signed off when complete
• Maintaining the cleanliness of food storage areas
• Washing up of dirty plates, cutlery and kitchen utensils
• Removing kitchen waste from waste containers and disposing of them properly
• Cleaning and maintaining cooking equipment such as Cookers and Grills
• Supporting the Chef in basic food preparation e.g. peeling and cutting fruit and vegetables
